Yes, when I go in any government building I expect to go through a metal detector. I am therefore careful what to have on my person. It is a the way to keep schools safe!

Yes, why do these not already exist? My sons had them in their schools 30 years ago in Catawba County. The first line of defense and very much worth the taxpayer expense is to have ONLY one entrance with a metal detector AND an armed law enforcement officer stationed at it. An inconvenience to students and school personnel but very necessary in today's world. Lincoln County is not exempt as a target for one of these lunatics. A price can not be put on children's safety and certainly money better spent than a fancy new court house or ambulance facility.
