Betty Joeann Qualls Redman
January 1, 1936 – September 22, 2024
CHERRYVILLE, N.C. - Betty Joeann Qualls Redman, age 88, of Cherryville passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 1, 1936, in Kingsport, Tenn. to the late Enoch Eugene and Georgia Mae Cole Qualls. She retired from both Western Electric/AT&T and Walmart. Betty had an incredible work ethic and it even showed in her yardwork and mowing. She was a wonderful Christian woman and a domestic engineer who was one of the greatest mothers and grandmothers to her beloved family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Charles Ellis Hatcher, Kirk Anthony Hatcher, and William Albert Redman; granddaughter, Shelby Danielle Hatcher; and her siblings, Margie Sue Lockett and Marion Eugene Qualls.
Survivors include her son, Keith Allen Hatcher; daughter-in-law, Donna Hatcher; siblings, Mabel Ruth McNally, Herman Fred Qualls, and Allen Young Qualls (Martha); grandchildren, Jeremy Hatcher (Jenny), Scott Hatcher (Monica), Michael Hatcher (Tina), Billy Hatcher, and Derek Checkley; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 27, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Hendryx New Palestine Chapel, 19 E Main St, New Palestine, IN 46163, with burial following at New Palestine Cemetery. The family received friends Friday, September 27, 2024 from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the chapel.
