Betty Wilson Overcash
November 24, 1933 – September 9, 2024
MAIDEN, N.C. - Betty Wilson Overcash, 90, of Maiden, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 24, 1933 in Cleveland County to the late George Pickney Wilson Sr. and Virginia Blanton Wilson. Betty was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Maiden and was family oriented.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Wilson, Woodrow Wilson,
Coleman Wilson, Harold Wilson, and George Wilson Jr.; and sisters, Katie Sue Bell and Barbara Hardin.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 44 years Larry Overcash of the home; sons Bobby Riley of Newton, Shawn Overcash and wife Lisa of Saluda; daughters Sheliah Burghardt and husband Paul of Newton, Donna Hammonds and husband Jeff of Conway, Carol Johnson and husband Gary of Lincolnton, Sherri Cook of Conover; sister Janet Enlow of Delaware, Skip Wilson of Shelby; grandchildren Drennin (Matthew) Todd, Kayleigh (Brandon), Marley (William), Lauren (David), Brittany (Justin), Kelly (Caleb), Rachel (David), Sarah (Austin), Logan, Riley (Cody), Robbie , Gabby and Karina; great-grandchildren Wesley (Sherri), Grace, J.T., Brylee, Hazel, William, Mason, Adeline, Aurora, Mavea and Bailey.
A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Maiden. Pastor Walter Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church.
