LINCOLNTON––Christian Ministry’s 29th annual golf tournament fundraiser is now just days away.

It’s coming up fast, Aug. 10 at the Lincoln Country Club. According to the ministry’s executive director, Mitzi Williams, all of the event’s proceeds will benefit the ministry’s efforts.

“We are still in need of golf hole sponsors,” Williams said Thursday. “A donation of $100 will sponsor a hole with a sign for your name or business. Just send your donation to the address below and mark it ‘golf hole sponsorship.’ Our golf team spaces are almost full. If you have been meaning to sign up, make it quick before the spots are filled.”

In other news, school supplies are out in the local stores right now, as Williams noted.

“It’s a great time for you to help us stock up our school-supply closet,” she said. “The Lincoln County Schools will be starting soon, and we will have families coming to the ministry, needing supplies. Help us to help them! We also have families needing supplies throughout the school year, and we want to be able to help them as well.”

With the help of its member churches, local businesses, social groups and individual supporters, Christian Ministry seeks to meet the needs of those who are less fortunate through its emergency services, soup kitchen, annual Christmas campaign, nursing home program and, for local elderly and shut-in residents, the delivery of LINC Home Meals.
