Don't Forget To Change Your Clocks & Batteries This Weekend
Daylight Savings Time officially ends on Sunday, November 3 at 2 a.m.
LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Daylight Savings Time officially ends on Sunday, November 3 at 2 a.m. Some of us will be counting down the days until we can turn our clocks back! Be sure to move your clocks “back” one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.
Fire departments in the area also want to remind residents that it’s time to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. A working smoke alarm is the first defense for occupants in case of a house fire.
Changing the batteries in smoke alarms twice per year, and testing the detectors monthly is the best way to reduce tragic deaths.
Families are also encouraged to develop and practice a home fire escape plan including: knowing two ways out of every room, and to make sure every member of the family understands how to get out of the home in case of fire.
For more information about smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms and home fire escape plans please contact your local fire department.
