Evelyn “Lovie” Juanita Travis Stewart
June 26, 1940 – November 12, 2024
MAIDEN, N.C. - Evelyn “Lovie” Juanita Travis Stewart, age 84, of Maiden passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Carolina Caring in Newton.
Born June 26, 1940 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie L. and Tinnie Mae Crouse Travis.
In addition to her parents, infant son, Bruce Philyaw; three brothers, Bill, Floyd and JD Travis; five sisters, Linda Putnam, Shirley Ballard, Kay Bumgarner and Virginia Cash, infant sister - Barbara Travis; grandson, Nicholas Parker; great-grandchildren, Orion Hale, Nicholas Travis; great-great grandson, Jasper Shook; best friend, and Samuel J. Stewart Jr. preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons Damon Reinhardt of Maiden, Gary Reinhardt and wife Karen of Mocksville; four daughters Angela Parker and husband William of Maiden, Anita Spry of Newton, Cheryl Houston and husband Paul of Mississippi, Virgie Stanley of Taylorsville; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at Maiden City Cemetery in Maiden with grandson, Phillip Stanley officiating.
The family received friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Maiden.
