DALLAS, N.C. - The Gaston County Museum of Art & History is issuing a call for proposals from regional artists who are interested in exhibiting their work at the Art & History Museum in Dallas, NC in 2025 and 2026.

“We have three shows a year,” explains Alicyn Wiedrich, the Museum’s curator. “The Spring show will run from January until April, the Summer show will be from May until August, and the fall show will be from September through December.”

Artists who work in any medium are invited to submit a cover letter, resume, artist statement and five to 10 images of completed artwork to Ms. Wiedrich at Alicyn.wiedrich@gastongov.com. “We invite solo artists as well as groups of artists who work together to submit a proposal,” she said. Artists must be at least 18 years old and may be eligible to receive an honorarium.

“The Museum is dedicated to showcasing the impressive range of talent in our region and are looking for artists who have not previously shown at the museum,” says Alexandrea Pizza, the Museum’s executive director. “We encourage artists to submit a proposal so that we can hopefully share their work with a wider audience.” The Museum hosts an opening reception for each new exhibit.

“As a museum of art and history, we are dedicated to educating our visitors on the depth of artistic talent right here in Gaston County,” Ms. Pizza says. “Over the years the museum has hosted hundreds of renowned artists who have called our county home. We look forward to discovering the next generation of talent and encourage emerging and established artists to submit their work.”

The Museum is currently featuring the work of C.M. “Kit” Kakassy in an exhibit that runs through January 4, 2025.
