STANLEY––The annual Countryfest celebration in Stanley will also feature Gospelfest.
That’s the recent word from event spokesman and noted gospel singer Bill Ward of Stanley. Ward will also serve as the master of ceremonies for Gospelfest.
As he informed, this Saturday, Oct. 5, in downtown Stanley, countless folks will flock in for the yearly observance of Countryfest. And a big part of Countryfest is the related Gospelfest: a huge concert of multiple gospel music greats, all performing on the main stage along Main Street. The stage and sound are both being provided by Splawn Stage and Sound. (Top) At left is pictured the Master of Ceremonies Bill Ward and at right is singer and bass guitarist Jett Edwards. Among those taking the stage to perform, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., are Adam Beard, Jett Edwards, Molded Clay, Marley Leonhardt, Josh Dawson, the Full Gospel Bluegrass Band and special guest Ravon Nichols.
John Torbett, a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, will deliver the opening prayer for the event.
Plus, festival-goers won’t want to miss the Little Miss Countryfest pageant, 9-10:30 a.m.
