Joe Steven Galvan
Joe Steven Galvan, age 81, of Cherryville, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his residence. He was born March 12,1943 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Eugenio Powell Galvan and Josephine Bernice Flagg Galvan. He was a graduate of Lorain High School and Lorain County Community College. He retired as a supervisor with Ford Motor Company in Lorain, Ohio. Joe was an avid collector. He collected Native American memorabilia, eagles, and monkeys. He enjoyed watching TV, especially WWE, and playing the lottery. Joe also had a passion for working on cars, especially antique cars and he loved riding horses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Galvan.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Antonia Galvan; children, Karin Martinez (Saul Martinez) and Exadivar Lopez (Karla Mancilla); grandchildren, Charles Alvarez, Alex Alvarez, Eddy Alvarez, Levi Martinez, and Ivan Martinez; great-grandchildren, Joshua Alvarez, Ezra Alvarez, and Mia Alvarez; and brother, Gene Galvan (Laura).
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home. Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery.
