MAIDEN, N.C. - Mattie Lee Parker Beal, age 88, of Maiden passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at her residence.

Born November 18, 1935 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Luke Dewitt and Laura Williams Parker. Mattie was a member of East Maiden Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, her husband, John C. Beal; sisters, Betty Peach, Margaret Parker; brothers, Kenneth Parker, Cecil Parker, Jeff Parker, and Grady Parker preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her nieces Gail Sigmon of Maiden, Sandy Shoffner and husband Alan of Maiden, Glenda Goodson and husband Chad of Maiden; nephews Terry Parker and wife Debbie of Maiden, Roger Parker of Maiden, Randy Parker and wife Sheila of Dalton, Ga., Stephen Parker and wife Angel of Maiden; numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, October 25, 2024 at 5 p.m. at East Maiden Baptist Church with Pastor Nathaniel Austin officiating.

Burial will follow in the Maiden City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4-4:45 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
