Nancy Leonhardt Tallent
July 11, 1946 — October 20, 2026
SHELBY, N.C.—Nancy Maxine Leonhardt Tallent, age 80, of Shelby, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Ignite Medical Resort in Shelby.
Nancy was born July 11, 1946, in Lincoln County, to the late Ted and Dorothy Huss Leonhardt.
Nancy was a member of Bethphage Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and shopping. Nancy also loved going out to eat and listening to Bluegrass music. She lived a very good life.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Smiley” Tallent.
Survivors include her daughter, Teddi L. Neal (Charles); son, Ronald Leonhardt (Michelle); siblings, Steve Leonhardt (Vivette), and Becky Engle (Ronnie); grandchildren, Seth Neal, Ryan Neal, Jessi Neal, Bessie Leonhardt, and Chase Leonhardt; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2026, at Bethphage Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow at Bethphage Lutheran Church Cemetery.
