Narcotics Investigations Focus Of Academy’s 8th Week

LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Members of the Lincoln County Citizen’s Academy learned about narcotics investigations and the K9 program at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, during their eighth week of class.

Lieutenant Dylan Houser and Deputy Gordon Killian spoke about various illegal or frequently abused narcotics, and how law enforcement officers combat the dangers these substances present to the community.

K-9 handler, Deputy Gordon Killian talked about the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office K-9 program, which was recently implemented by Sheriff Bill Beam. The Sheriff’s Office currently has six K-9 units, with each dog being trained to perform various tasks, such as article searches, tracking, and narcotics detection.
