Nellie Carpenter Beam
July 11, 1930— March 4, 2026
LINCOLNTON, N.C.—Nellie Carpenter Beam, age 95, of Lincolnton, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Pisgah Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Justin Scoggins officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
Ms. Beam was born July 11, 1930, in Lincoln County, to the late Claude and Ruby Gates Carpenter. In addition, she was preceded in death by five of her siblings, and a special friend, Mick Abernathy. Nellie worked in textiles.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeanette Hovis (Keith), and Dare Hovis (Conrad), all of Lincolnton; son, Donald Eugene Beam of Florida; three grandchildren, Dawn Travis Ackerman (Mark), Clint Hovis (Julie), and Chris Hovis (Elaina); four great-grandchildren, Nikki Burgess (Matt), Devyn Travis, Chase Hovis, Gavin Hovis, and Maddie Hovis; special friends, Tiffany Rimmer, Tena Littlejohn, and Sammie.
Memorials may be made to Pisgah Methodist Church, 2582 Gastonia Highway, Lincolnton, NC 28092.
