LINCOLNTON––A new park is slated to come to the Lincolnton area.
That’s the word from Lincoln County Public Affairs Officer Vanessa León. As León recently told The Herald, Westwinds Park is scheduled to hold its grand opening ceremonies on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 4-6 p.m. The park is located at 4797 Westwinds Road in Lincolnton, next to the West Lincoln Branch of the Lincoln County Public Library.
“Please join us for a pop-in event for the opening of the final phase of Westwinds Park,” said León.
She added that a ceremony is scheduled to take place at 4:15 p.m. Speakers will include Lincoln County Government personnel, such as county manager Davin Madden, parks and recreation department director John Davis and members of the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners. There will also be popcorn, light drinks, kids’ activities and walking tours of the park, which features children’s playground equipment, swings and more.
These swings (below) are also part of the new park.
