Peggy JoAnn Rushing Bennett
Peggy JoAnn Rushing Bennett, 89, of Catawba passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at her home.
She was born September 5, 1935 in Mecklenburg County to the late Zeb Hunter and Mary Ann Williamson Rushing. Peggy was of the Christian faith and was a member of the PBX Telecommunicators Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Larry Bennett and a grandson, Adam Dale Owens.
Those left to cherish her memory are;
Son: James Larry Bennett, Jr. of Catawba
Daughters: Joyce Ann Nemitz and husband Bruce of Catawba
Connie Marie Deason of Hickory
Grandchildren: Linda Kay Davidson (Ronald), James Henry Patterson, and Robert Hunter Deason
Great-Grandchildren: David Paul Benish Jr., Austin James Davidson, Ashleigh Marie Davidson, and Mary McKenzie Owens
A service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Rev. Daniel McGee will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at Bennett Funeral Service.
