LOWESVILLE––The Vale-based Reggie Saddler Family will perform a free concert on Saturday, Aug. 24.
The Vineyard Church of Lowesville is the place to be that evening at 5 p.m., according to noted gospel singer and concert co-ordinator Carroll Cooke. And although the concert is free, as Cooke recently noted, a free-will offering will be taken up.
The Saddlers have been performing gospel music on a full-time basis for more than 20 years. Reggie and Bridgette Saddler are joined by their daughter, Ingra. The family’s members declare that they proudly proclaim the gospel according to the words of St. Paul’s Epistle to the Romans, Chapter One, verse 16. This Pauline text speaks to the universality of Christ’s message:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
The Saddlers are known for such hits as “Any Time, Any Place, Anywhere,” “I’ve Got Me a Home” and “The Real Thing.” The lyrics speak of Christian faith. The melodies are catchy. Mr. Saddler’s energetic guitar style is dynamic and memorable. And he’s known for being engaging with audiences while singing.
The Saddlers have appeared at the National Quartet Convention and many other such gospel venues. They travel the country, singing gospel music and preaching the gospel.
The Vineyard Church is located at 1062 NC-16 South in Lowesville. It features Southern, bluegrass and/or acoustic gospel concerts every Saturday evening.
