ALEXANDRIA, Va. - It is with profound sadness that we announce that Victor Harvey Morrison, Jr., 51, passed away suddenly on September 27, 2024, in Alexandria.
Victor was a kind, fun, confident, and generous man who was always willing to help others. He contributed greatly to this world before passing on. Victor was a loving and devoted husband, a caring and dedicated son, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the American Legion. He will be deeply missed.
Victor was raised in Newton, N.C. He joined the U.S. Army in 1994. Among his military honors were the National Defense Service Medal. Following his military service, Victor earned a bachelor's degree in Decision Science from East Carolina University and then continued learning from professors such as Robert Shiller of Yale University. With this background, Victor excelled in his career as a respected information technology professional with in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise in the IT industry. He was a great mentor to many in the greater Washington, D.C., area.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 15 years, Sherry Morrison of Alexandria, Virginia; his parents, Victor Harvey Morrison Sr. and Jeanette Morrison of Catawba, N.C.; his stepdaughter, Shania; his sweetheart Goldendoodle, Daisy; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather James Thomas Stanley Morrison; paternal grandmother Katherine Anna Schill Morrison; maternal grandfather David Hamilton Cook; and maternal grandmother Essie Pearl Cook.
A service to celebrate Victor’s life was held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Victor’s final resting place will be Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
