LINCOLNTON, N.C. - During the sixth week of the Lincoln County Citizen’s Academy, Lieutenant Dylan Houser and Deputy David Diberardino spoke about law enforcement considerations during traffic stops, as well as Driving While Impaired (DWI) enforcement. Deputy Diberardino discussed the use of Field Sobriety Testing and Alco-Sensors, when conducting an impaired driving investigation.

Participants were given instructions on how to administer certain field sobriety tests, before being able to practice them for themselves. Each participant was also given the chance to attempt a small driving course, while wearing alcohol impairment goggles, also known as “Drunk Goggles.”
