William Thomas “WT” Lemons
William Thomas “WT” Lemons, 95, of Claremont, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Carolina Caring in Newton.
He was born October 1, 1929 in Catawba County to the late Roy Lee Lemons, Sr. and Estelle Summers Lemons. WT was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover, where he served as a Deacon and an usher. He retired as a transportation broker, and enjoyed spending time with his wife of 75 years. In his spare time, WT had a variety of hobbies, including fishing, watching baseball and softball, and bowling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mike Lemons; brothers, Paul Lemons and Roy Lee Lemons; and his sister, Jenetta Lemons Deal.

Son: Ricky Lemons and wife Bea of Newton
Brother: Delbert Lemons of Newton
Grandchildren: Bradley Lemons and Chris Lemons
Great-Grandchildren: Harper Lemons, Eli Lemons, and Kinsley Lemons
A service to celebrate WT’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service in Newton. Rev. Tim Jernigan will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Bennett Funeral Service.
